Spinal Decompression

Spinal Decompression

A controlled, traction-based treatment that may be appropriate for selected patients with disc-related neck or back pain.

What spinal decompression is

Spinal decompression uses controlled traction as part of a non-surgical care plan. It may be considered for selected patients with disc-related neck or back symptoms after an appropriate evaluation.

Screening matters.

Not every patient with a herniated or bulging disc is automatically a decompression candidate. Treatment selection should be based on the individual clinical presentation, candidacy screening, and ongoing progress monitoring.

  • Individual candidacy screening
  • Controlled traction-based care
  • Progress monitoring
  • Integration with a broader recovery plan when appropriate
Decompression should not be described as a treatment that repairs every disc or guarantees recovery.
