What spinal decompression is
Spinal decompression uses controlled traction as part of a non-surgical care plan. It may be considered for selected patients with disc-related neck or back symptoms after an appropriate evaluation.
Screening matters.
Not every patient with a herniated or bulging disc is automatically a decompression candidate. Treatment selection should be based on the individual clinical presentation, candidacy screening, and ongoing progress monitoring.
- Individual candidacy screening
- Controlled traction-based care
- Progress monitoring
- Integration with a broader recovery plan when appropriate
Decompression should not be described as a treatment that repairs every disc or guarantees recovery.
